On Shame

I have been thinking a lot about shame. In the woods I am shameless. I am free.

I was raised to feel shame.

shame for the way my mind works - too creative to be consistent and too curious to be productive;

shame for my body - caught in an impossible paradigm of modesty and hypersexuality;

shame for my sexuality - too gay to be straight but not gay enough for the gays, and too curious to be monogamous;

shame for my gender identity - too femme-presenting to be a boy but too boy to be a girl;

shame for my feelings - too emotional to be rational but too rational to trust my feelings.

Shame is control. Shame is a trap.

Break free

Are you holding onto shame? Let’s release our shame together

Let this be your example of SHAMELESS non-binary, queer, polyamorous joy. Shame undermines joy and self-love. Live shamelessly. Be free
